About this deal

Comfort meets convenience with Honeywell Home thermostats. We know how important it is to keep our homes nice and warm, especially during the colder months, and that’s why here at Plumbworld, we offer a range of Honeywell Home Thermostats, offering a collection of analogue and digital programmable thermostats which will easily have your home temperature under control. Boasting advanced technology and modern features, the Honeywell thermostat does the clever stuff for you by managing the hot water flow from your boiler to your radiators or underfloor heating system. The CS92A also offers a range of programmable settings, allowing users to customize their heating schedules according to their specific needs and preferences. This flexibility in programming makes it suitable for a wide range of heating applications. The motor will move the valve to the mid position AB, so both heating and hot water are selected. Internal switches and other components ensure the motor is held at this mid point. Power on White and Grey Here the motor will move to position A (heating only). When it gets there, an internal switch connects white and orange together, and this output is used to activate the boiler.

Power starts at terminal 3 (HW On) in the programmer. This passes via the wiring centre terminal 6 to the cylinder thermostat. If heat is required, power continues to terminal 8 in the wiring centre, and on to the boiler and pump. When wiring your Honeywell Cylinder Stat, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind. It’s crucial to correctly identify the terminals and understand their functions. This will ensure that you connect the correct wires and avoid any potential damage or malfunctions. It can still be fitted today, however is not suitable for systems with more than one heating zone. 3 Port Valve Operation One of the key features of the Honeywell CS92A is its accurate temperature control. The controller is capable of maintaining a consistent and desired temperature within a specified range. This precise control helps to ensure comfort and energy efficiency. As with hot water only, the orange valve wire is connected to power via the wiring centre terminal 8, but orange is still not connected to anything inside the valve. Operation - Heating only To protect your equipment, turn off the power at the breaker box or switch that controls your heating and cooling. To confirm your system is off, change the temperature on your existing thermostat, so the system starts heating or cooling. If you don’t hear or feel the system turn on within 5 minutes, the power is off. You can skip this step if you have a digital thermostat with a blank display.

The Honeywell CS92A is a temperature controller that is designed to provide precise and efficient control of heating systems. This controller is suitable for use in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Note that although the orange valve wire is connected to power, this does nothing, as orange is only connected via an internal switch when the valve is in position A. Operation - Hot water and central heating As programmer terminal 1 has power, so does wiring centre terminal 7 which is connected to the valve grey wire. The white wire already has power via the room thermostat, and as power is applied to both grey and white, the valve moves to position A.

The same result is acheived if the hot water cylinder is fully heated - the cylinder thermostat provides the 'HW Off' signal by connecting C and 2 together. These systems contain a wireless controller with a wired receiver unit. The receiver unit replaces the existing programmer. The wireless controller contains a room thermostat and is used to control both the heating and hot water, so any existing wired room thermostat must be removed. In this guide, we will walk you through the wiring process step by step, providing clear instructions and helpful tips along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or a complete beginner, this guide will give you the confidence and knowledge to successfully wire your Honeywell Cylinder Stat and enjoy the benefits of a reliable and efficient home heating system. Understanding Honeywell Cylinder Stat Wiring If you’re looking to upgrade your home heating system, the Honeywell Cylinder Stat is a reliable and efficient choice. This guide will provide you with all the information you need to properly wire your Honeywell Cylinder Stat, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings.

Referring to your photo, remove and label each wire. If a terminal has multiple designations like W and O/B, it will be labeled as W and O/B and not just one or the other. This scheme uses a 3 port mid position valve. In the past this was by far the most common setup, as it only requires one valve. Firstly, it’s important to understand the basic principles of cylinder stat wiring. The cylinder stat is responsible for monitoring and controlling the temperature of your hot water cylinder. It works in conjunction with your central heating system to maintain a constant and comfortable temperature throughout your home.

Security

Having the right tools can make the wiring process much easier. Make sure to have a variety of screwdrivers (both flathead and Phillips), wire strippers, and electrical tape on hand. These tools will allow you to properly connect the wires and secure them in place. You should typically see an 18-gauge solid core wire. The most common configuration is five wires. However, you could see as few as two and many as ten. Older systems simply have the boiler and pump connected to SL (8 in the wiring centre), with only N and E permanently connected. Identify any wires labeled R, RH, or RC. You typically have one or two of those three. If you have one wire — even if it’s labeled RC — it goes into the R terminal, setting the jumper connecting terminals R and RC in place. Thermostats may have a jumper switch, metal staple, or plug. The jumper may also be a wire connecting the two terminals. If you have two wires, R or RH go into the R terminal and RC into the RC terminal. If you have more than one wire (for example, you have a wire labeled R and another wire labeled Rc), remove any jumpers between the R and Rc terminals or push the switch to open the RC terminal to insert a wire.

Honeywell Cylinder Stat Wiring: When it comes to wiring a Honeywell cylinder stat, it’s important to understand the different components and how they work together. The cylinder stat is responsible for controlling the temperature of the hot water in your cylinder, ensuring it stays at a comfortable level. Next, let’s talk about the C or common wire. If you have a Trane model thermostat and a wire labeled X or B, refer to your thermostat manual. In some cases, one of those wires is your common. If you have a C wire, place it into the C terminal on your wall plate. C wire adapters are available here. The only addition to acheive heating only is terminal 1 (HW Off) of the programmer being connected to power. If you see wires connected to terminals labeled G1 G2 G3, you need a thermostat capable of controlling multiple fan speeds; none of our retail thermostats are compatible with this system type. G is compatible, but not G1, G2, or G3. After removing and labeling all wires, unscrew the old thermostat wall plate and mount the new thermostat’s wall
