About this deal

Thanks and don’t forget to drop a comment below if you have any thoughts on our Berghaus Intrepid 700 Sleeping Bag review. A few key features that I liked where the hanging loops for storage , The internal and external pockets for your Torch and phone in the night , The 3/4 zip so you don't have to bend down as far and keep your feet warm in the articulated foot bed. Like mentioned already, the bag seems very well made but just doesnt keep you warm enough, camped out ans the temp dropped to 10. This light weight sleeping bag gives great warmth through the summer months and takes up minimal room in your pack. During both nights of our trip l I was so cold that I could barely sleep despite wearing 2 pairs of socks, trousers, t shirt, fleece and a hoodie all whilst in my sleeping bag in the tent. Across the shoulders is 750mm (75cm) which should be sufficient for even the most broad-shouldered of mountaineers.A sleeping bag liner is a simple insert that can be slotted inside of the sleeping bag, much in the same way that a sheet slips onto a home bed. Plus I have to save the weight as I replace my unsued (for about 4 years) terciary lighting backup for the Jetboil :- its own lighter, disposable lighter and finaly flint and steel). An inner security pocket and concealed zip pocket keep essentials safe and secure for peace of mind while you sleep. These are the best sleeping bags for mild winter camping where you aren’t expecting to deal with snowstorms and frost in the mornings. However, if you’re still on the fence and want to look at some more options, here are some great alternatives to consider.

Edited to add, have also considered the Snugpak Travelpak3 but its only available in a minging colour, which shouldn’t matter. For a lot of the time, as I don’t camp in the cold so much any more (and I’ve got a much warmer bag for when I do), I’m in the thinner liner and using the sleeping bag proper as a duvet. These sleeping bags are lighter than the rectangular bags and occupy less space when packing – perfect for backpacking. Just started to feel a slight chill on my upper half and although it was unseasonably cold, it was nowhere near freezing. I find that having a small square of reflective material (old emergency foil blanket) and additional foam mat really boosts warmth. We lose most of our heat from our heads in a cold environment and by ensuring a hood is built into a sleeping bag, this can be minimised.
